I agree, but I would cluster a red, a green and a rb real close together and they will produce the best spectrum. The three mix to look like a white bulb in this arrangement. Spread apart they can be seen individually and it makes for a disco. Next to a white bulb will wash it out and make is less noticeable, but if your soldering skills are good get the red, green, and rb real close together.

Damn, I worked late last night attaching the LEDs and wiring them, wish I saw the posts about clustering the colors like that before. Oh well, we'll see how it looks and I can always move some LEDs around later if need be.

Here is a picture of the LEDs and their placement. I choose this placement because I have a bowfront.

Here is the colored LEDs and the RBs lit up. Just have to wire the whites now.

Ok Mike is the wall of your house white (or light color)? If you could, try and light against the wall with the LEDs after you wire up the whites, see if you get decent color mix without any spotting from a couple of feet away.

Looking awesome tho! cant wait to see the tank with it!

I'll try it against a white wall Shin. Before the optics or after?

Make it as real as possible, but you dont need to glue the optics if thats possible.

Sounds good, I'll try to snap a pic.

Did any of you actually connect your ground wire to the heat sink or just ignore it?

They didn't make their goal, but they must have worked out some deal with LEDGroupBuy because they are now selling their heat sinks.

    All put together finally

And here is the wall Shin, no spotlighting!

Sadly I must have knicked one of my CWs with the soldering iron because the diode was a bit melted and smoking :( I removed it from the string until I get a replacement.
