Ok so i got a 150 watt pendant out of a trade and it will be above a 29 gal a waste of a good light on a small tank but it looks cool plus a 10 gal sump/fug. but hey its funny i dont really have a clue on live stock right now theres a royal gramma and a blackfin goby and a yellow pistol shrimp in the tank. Tanks been up for 4 months

    hey rebelsreef

I wouldnt say a 150 MH pendant is a waste of light on a small tank

I would say however, be mindful of the tank temperature , as these things put out a lot of heat - but if its mounted well above the surface and you have good air circulation, fans maybe?
then all things being equal , its a good amount of light and you have multiple choices on inhabitants
