    Skimmed through your videos :)

Glad your fish all made it through the cycle. Generally we tend to try to get people to cycle with a raw shrimp instead. But I'm guessing using (cured?) live rock helped that.

It sounds like you're learning as your going on, which is great, and you're tank looks to be progressing in the right direction. I'd definately recommend adding a lot more rock. Since you mentioned youre on a HS budget, you might want to look into dry rock. The bacteria from the live rock will colonize it anyway, and you'll save a ton of money.

You mentioned your thinking of adding a couple fish. What are you thinking of adding? Also, you mentioned maybe adding zoas or mushrooms. Are you planning on upgrading your lighting as part of that?

    Thanks for watching, Zechenia!

I had no idea that the fish would be stressed until after the cycle was over. And yes, it was cured rock.

I am learning new things every day! How much does dry rock run at? I've been buying fully cured live rock from my LFS for $3.99 a pound (Which seems REALLY cheap)

I was planning on adding a goby of some sort or something else that will stay near the bottom. I most DEFINITELY am going to up my lighting to at least T5. I was thinking one 50/50 and one 10,000K daylight.

I hope youl guys like what I have so far, because it's going to get SO much better ;D

Ya, that live rock seems like it's cheap... I think (I went with all dry rock on my set up, so idk how much live rock is going for :p). Dry rock (from reefcleaners) runs about 2.50 a pound. So a bit cheaper, but it kinda depends on how much you'd want... especially since you'd have to pay some shipping!

I'd also pay close attention to what you do with your lights. If you plan on keeping more light demanding coral, you might want to look at a four bulb T5 fixture (I have the aquatic life one, and have no complaints about it!). It'll be cheaper long run to not get a light that works "for now" and then upgrade it again a few months down the road ;)

It seems VERY cheap! Other live rock goes from $8 - $13 a pound.

I'm planning on just keeping some softies, but that fixture seems like it would work very good. I'll look into it 8)

hi! my live rock went for 10.99$ a pound. I only bought 6 pounds of live rock and 27 pounds of base from reefcleaners. the live rock was fiji. for a t5 light fixture, i would check out fishneedit.com. thats where i bought mine and i like it a lot. i will be hanging from my ceiling with their kit at some point in the future.
