They are beneficial pods, most likely anthropods or copepods. No need to worry, the tank is just maturing. Got any recent pics?

The green ones look like radioactive dragon eye zoas.. I'm new too though. I dont know about the red ones. I just recently bought a frag of the same zoas. Love them. Nice looking tank.

Which do you think is better bak pak hob skimmers or octupus skimmer? Also my lfs said that i should keep my canister filter also to keep my tank water clear. Do i need a canister also or can i just run a skimmer on my tank?

You don't have to use the canister. You use the Berlin Method for filtration. It's basically ample live rock combined with protein skimming.

As far as which skimmer is better you're going to get conflicting opinions because both of those are decent.

What kind of coral? Some LPS and most/all SPS require higher intensity lighting then power compacts can provide. Halides or T5's would be the way around that but without knowing what coral you were looking at it will be hard to provide accurate advice :)

Went by a new LFS that had some great corals! Also really good deals compared to the shop close to me. Got some green star polops, Toadstool Leather, Ricordia what color do i call this? Only cost $30 for all 3 corals.

    July 22nd.
