The wife and I spent a few hours looking at lighting systems today for the 29's we are going to setup soon.

All I can say is, it feels cheaper to just keep getting the bio/nano cubes and being happy with that...

I mean, 280 for a lighting system for my 29 when I can use that and just buy the bio/nano setup for the same price... ugg...

    suggestions?

both will be corals and a few fish.. think we are going to keep our fish set down to like 2 each or maybe 3 each. I'm a clown person, so I'll have two clowns and she might go with some other stuff.....

What type of corals? I would say a nice t5 system would be great on your 29g tank.

I agree, T5s are really nice, little heat and great intensity. Try a Nova extreme, they have various sizes

T5 or VHO should give you the right out put on that system. 1up on the nova extreme.

Yea stick with the 29 because you would end up replacing the lighting with the Bio/Nano cube anyways, thats a given.

Lets see, a 29 thats 30 inches long right. and 30" lights are few and far between.

How about this one 30" 380W Metal Halide System w/ Electronic Ballast

Or maybe this one 30" 130W Dual Strip Power Compact Light Fixture Advance

Most T5's that are listed as 30" are actually only 24" bulbs in a 30" case.
I have this 36" and I am currently using it on a 29 gallon tank. It hangs over a little bit but it does a really nice job.

keep the 29 and get yourself a reefoptixIII pendant and a 250 watt metal halide ballast.

Metal halides would be nice but pricey; PC's are cheap and you get what you pay for you pay for if you know what I mean. Gazog's 36'' inch T5 fixture looks nice. Shop around and you'll find something.

I heard that the VHO's were being outdated so I didn't get them.

I had my mind set on getting T5's, but my canopy is 35" so it was a pain trying to find something to fit. I just went with MH.
