It looks like the relief air is below the water level on your standpipe. I have found 2 seperate versions to be the most effective and quiet.

    1. Same shape you currently have but seal up the relief holes on the side and drill a 1/4" hole in the top (if you were to look in the hole you would look down the standpipe) and insert a 1/4" tube about 4" deep. This will keep the relief air above the water level and should help with the sucking sounds.

    2. (and the one i am using now) a quick $5 Hofer Gurgle Buster. It is cheap, adjustable and REALLY quiet. I was completely skeptical until i actually put one together.

    Thanks, Dustin!

The side holes are below the water as you can see from the video..There is a air relief on the top that is not below the water..It seems like the water is getting pulled in the side holes instead getting pulled in the elbow where the stainer is..I didn't have this problem before..

tank looks awesome, just a suggestion but increasing the size of your return pump could help raise the water level in the overflow thus quieting down your systemand overall helping the flow in the tank. Had a similar problem in my tank. Just an opinion though :)
