Soo.. my buddy got from his older brother a used RO unit. pics attached. I know how everybody loves pics. so anyways I need to know about it but cannot find anything online. all it says anywere on it is in the first pic. it states "Ultra-Pure Reverse Osmosis".. thats all nothing else.
So now I have a pic of the filters..where can I get new ones? they seem to be 10 inches long. but I dont know about the last one, I think it is a mixed resin media???
Last, the pic dont know if you can see is but the top one has a blue restrictor in it..the bottom one flows free. whats up with that? and there is a spacer i think down in the bottom and there was one around the top of the last filter the one with the blue line and a yellow line out.. oh one black on in. dont know if it matters.;D
Also how do i use? alright thanks

The cartridges in order are the TFC membrane, carbon and sediment filter.

In the picture of the assembled unit it goes like so.
    1. The prefilter is on the right, water flows from your tap into this housing first and it removes the sediment and particulates. Try to get a 1 micron or less prefilter as a replacement so it can protect the:
    2. Carbon block. The next vertical filter is the carbon block on the left. It removes chlorine and volatile organics so they do not damage the RO membrane. Again shoot for a 1 micron or less to remove the most chlorine for the longest period of time. The reason you want a 1 micron prefilter in front of it is carbon is made up of billions of tiny microscopic pores which need to remain open or un clogged to function at removing chlorine. Larger micron size prefilters allow contaminants to pass which plugs the carbon pores. Always use a prefilter the same micron size or smaller than the carbon for best performance and lifespan.
    3. RO membrane. It appears yours is a very low GPD, probably 15-18 gallons per day but it can be replaced with a 75-90 GPD membrane for $35 and an additional $5 for a matched flow restrictor.

Take a look at the sale flyer here, they have the 1 micron prefilter for $6, the 1 micron carbon block for $10 and the 90 GPD membrane for $35. You could even add a DI filter to make it a kicka$$ RO/DI system for not much more.
