3 Stripe Damsel

Is this a good beginner fish? Just started my tank a little over a month ago. I have had crabs in the tank for awhile and pods are growing. I heard they are a little aggressive but will get along with clownfish which I plan to get. Anybody have this fish and can give me some advice?

 

All Damsels have the potential to be VERY aggressive. In small tanks this aggressive can be magnified secondary to lack of hiding spaces and limited real estate to establish territories.

A wonderful little Damsel but it will become aggressive.

My advice is to cycle the tank fully and then proceed with clowns.

 

Ive cycles 3 tanks with the same set of three strip damsels, those lityle dudes are tanks, how ever they become extreey aggressive to all of my tankmates, so they live in my biddies sump now.

 

I currently have a 3-stripe, domino, and yellow-tail in my 29h w/45lbs of rock, and my cleaner wrasse and coral banded shrimp have survived thus far. lol. Swimming space and lots of hiding places are a must to help curb the aggression, but there's never any guarantee. I once had a 3-stripe that literally tormented a foxface 3 times his size in a 55g...
