you can buy a box for 50g or 25g usally at LFS. you'll want to have some extra so get 75g or 100g worth..
you can use any name brand, some people like red sea, instant ocean, kent, petco, etc...just get a salinity around : 1.023

A lot of people use Carib Sea sand, as did I, and we all love it. I use Oceanic salt, and it's supposed to be one of the best.

SAND- CraibSea Aragonite - pink fiji (small grain) or seaflor (medium grain). 25lbs per 1" sand bed

SALT- Try smaller buckets of different kinds and see which one works best for you. Personally, I use Reef Crystal for my reef. How much? The volume of saltwater you can make per bucket/box is written on the label.

HEATERS- I recommend 2 smaller heaters. If one fails, it won't overheat your tank and the 2nd one will keep the temperature. 150W Marineland Stealth is a good choice.

    Hope it helps.

SOme LPS also sell live sand by the Ib.

    Many diffrent brands of salt.

You can get two heaters. Try the Stealth pro from Marinland.
They are shatter proof and are backed with lifetime warranty.
Instead of getting the one rated for 55 gallons just get two rated 30.

Only buy a titanium heater. I would get two.

Cheap salt is fine for FO.
