if it were me i would get another pump and then start on your sump. i would put CUC at the bottom of the list for now. theres other ways to fight algae.

That's alright! The sump won't cost much. Just get it off of CL! There's tons of 10$ 10gs. Will you be using PVC or vinyl for the overflow and return?

ive tried pvc before and have all the pipes put together for it but would much rather have flexible hosing. I can get a tank for a $ a gallon, id like to find the one that fits my needs first. I was hoping a 20 but itll probably end up being a 10 lol

well i have been talking to my lfs and parents, and i might be able to get a 30 gallon sump. im going to drain my tank to about 75% and then move it out a few inches. It will be wide enough for me to fit a 12" wide tank behind it. that would make it possible for me to have 2 30 gallon tanks, pretty awesome. I also found out my overflow box is 300gph and ill be buying a mag 5 for it. it seems a little too good to be true but i hope it works out. i am going to be able to have a reeallly nice skimmer if this goes through. i wont need to change my pipes for the overflow and ill buy some flexible hosing for the pump and get a ball valve on it somehow. any ideas?

also, the algae is getting everywhere.. i aimed my ph at it and i hope it will go away if i keep it there for a little while. my 750 ph will come soon and my cleanup crew should be here tuesday.

Sweet! Why not just drill the tank? It'd be alot safer. I'm happy for you man! With 60g of volume you could easily add a ton of small fish.

I might put a shrimp or more cool inverts in the fuge but no more fishies. I think it would be easier to keep it undrilled just because I don't need Any turns or anything in it, just a straight line. I don't know where I'm going to buy it but I'll be buying it soon from somewhere lol.

im going to buy a 20 long from a guy near me. he is giving me a great deal. 1 stick of epoxy, the glass panels cut and polished by a glass shop, 2 tubs of carbon, media chambers, phosban media, silicone, and the tank itself for 50$. i wont need much more, just a sump pump, which will be a mag 5, and some flexible tubing. everything else is setup.

and ya i know lol, ill probably get 5 fish instead of 3 whenever everything is settled.
