Thanks. ha I plan my tanks for weeks before I start and I change it soon as I start. :cheesy:

Mandarin out of the question now, unless I can get one already eating Frozen.

haha. What happened to the planned 20g? Oh well, bigger is better, I suppose. :p

I'm glad you decided not to get the mandarin. You know all the problems they can have in a small tank.

6 fish in a 30? I think our stocking list looks kind of big. JMO though...I will have 3-4 in my 29g.

Looks good but I would cut the stocking list down. That's kinda big for a 30 gallon.

Believe me. I fold under pressure when it comes to Buy something. I always go with the best or biggest I can afford. haha Yeah, we get the mandarins that are already eating frozen stuff in at the store sometimes. That's what I meant by mandarin and plus since I work there, I won't take a mandarin home till I can get it to eat something other than pods. ha
It's a bit much I understand, mostly a wish list. ha I take it slow though, so we will see. I usually push my tank to the breaking point and then some. haha
    For sure though
    Cherub
    neon cleaner
    jawfish
    a clown or cardinal.

That's pretty cool. I think that might make a better stocking list. Be on the lookout to make sure your cherub isn't nipping at corals.

I've got a 29 gallon that just finished cycling and bought the Aquaclear 50 to supplement another filter. It came with the 3 part filtration (sponge, carbon, biomax). When your goal is to turn the Aquaclear into a fuge, does this mean you will remove the sponge and only leave the biomax in or some other bacteria housing? And what's the turf algae filter?

I got the same lighting in for mine 2 weeks ago (each is 3 blue/2white) and I'm happy with them (lightning fast shipping). Although for ~250 total w/shipping, I think if I could go back three weeks, I'd go the DIY led strips with the 3 watt cree bulbs from rapidled.com. Because the BoostLEDs are in the bulb, there is some definite spotlighting (let me know if you want to see a picture and I can send one to you), and if it's a reef tank you'll want the bulbs relatively close to the surface I'm guessing. It doesn't look bad though, in fact I kind of like how it almost divides the tank into 3 focal points, although I will probably end up supplementing them with some strips later on.

I would also suggest a skimmer if you don't already have one for this tank...
