    I haven't seen what kind of foam the 300a's are capable of yet.

    Hopefully next month at Reefstock we will be firing one up just for show.

    So what is it you want to do Jack? Where are you going to put the skimmer? W?D filters are not terrible, but you already have a ton of live rock. You are fish only so will not be doing a lot of demanding corals, so you really do not need a W/D. Just a skimmer in a box. Any skimmer for your tank will be sizable.

    SWC makes good skimmers. Sure there are others. My personal preference is for needle wheel skimmers. After that... If you have a big enough tank and can get a Askoll pump... then it is the Askoll hands down. It would be the only one I would be looking at.

    There are better skimmer if you want to spend more, but SWC is at a very good price performance point. But I would ditch the plans for the W/D and put that money into a skimmer and sump. Buy a tank off Craigs list and hook it up.
