since nobody will build the tank i thought of, im doing it myself. have been on the phone quite a bit with the acrylic company that only sells 4'x8' sheets, free cutting, and am in the process of ordering the acrylic sheets. i spent a couple days on my computer with an engineering program compiling the acrylic sheets to maximize the amount used without wasting alot.

the tank is eurobraced 24" H x 48" W x 60" L. the back wall of the tank is a coast to coast overflow with an external overflow. the back/bottom of the tank is black acrylic.

Looks like you have it all planned out but remember that each cut will remove a bit of material. plan for at least 1/8th and that is being greedy.

This looks like quite an undertaking. I'm impressed in the depth of the tank but how do you plan on being able to get to the back of the tank? Is there going to be a canopy or open top? I was close to buying the Marineland 200g 48x36 but got cold feet because I know I can't pick up the canopy by myself in an emergency. Probably a boxed in hanging light about 36" square would work and allow easy entry to reach in to move a coral or pick one up that fell over for example. I'll bet it will be gorgeous when it's done. Is it going to be a reef or FOWLR? Keep us posted.

Subscribed! :D Can't wait to see it getting assembled. Cutting pieces to size is always the more boring part of a build anyways ;)
