    So judging by those overflow pics, it appears as if the bulkhead entering the tank side lines up perfectly with the hole on the overflow's "dry" side, leading outside of the tank. So is that the closed loop arrangement where the input passes through the overflow?

    Since you have a coast-to-coast overflow, I'm guessing this would have to be the case; since all pipwork entering and exiting the rear of the tank would have to pass thru the overflow. Nifty idea!! Nice design.

    If I'm mistaken--nevermind. :)

    yup,

    the 4 holes on the overflow line up with the 4 holes on the back wall of the tank. the 3 larger holes towards the top on the back wall are system drains. the 4 holes on the bottom of the back wall are for the closed loop out to the pumps. the system drains are for a 2" bulkhead all other holes are for a 1.5" bulkhead.

    heres a pic of the bottom of the overflow with an additional bead thats as hard as the acrylic itself
