    A pump that performs like that sounds nice. Good energy savings too..

    its also the upfront cost of the pump that matters.

    average stats i found:

    red dragon: its a laguna with a loop back line
    askoll 1500: 70-90 w / 80-100 scfh
    laguna 2400: 60-100 w / 50-100 scfh
    sicce: 15-30 w / 20-40 scfh
    orca: 120-170 w / 90-120 scfh
    sedra/eheim: on the lower end of the scale

    negatives:

    red dragon: over priced
    askoll: w/scfh to high
    laguna: run hot, in sump only
    sicce: the best rated w/scfh but many complain they stop working, in sump only.
    orca: the worst rated w/scfh

    with this tank build alot of time and effort has gone into it. id rather wait and have it done the best way possible than rush into it and pay for it later.

    Wow - built the tank and now building the skimmer for the awesome tank. I can't wait to see the pics and progress of the skimmer.

    same pump, cant get any more out of it without having problems, next step is to put this on a skimmer body.
