    What made you want to do a custom tank? You could get almost any tank for $1700. Also, as I noticed it, what is a closed loop used for? Im not familiar with that term or what it does. Tanks sounds like a great idea/design, looking forward to seeing it become a reality.

    Is 1" acrylic actually an inch thick or is it like lumber and is actually only 3/4" thick?

    most if not all tanks are taller than wider which doesnt work for corals and their overflows are small and internal without a coast to coast.

    internal flow without the use of powerheads

    its 1"

    I was wondering that myself. I was going to buy a house here in Tampa, and I was going to build a very large tank into the wall - perfect area, concrete slab floor in the room, tank size somewhere around 1,000 gallons - and a 1 3/4" sheet that was 5 foot high and 12 feet long was around $4,000. Then I found I had to move, so buying a house is out.

    im also talking to a local guy thats going to assemble the tank with me who has a long history of making tanks, so im secure with his workmanship. between all three of us were looking at the design and the drawings.
