just ordered 8 bf6000's from reeflo $2000. 2 on standby, just in case. will use the impeller from the bf3600 on two of them. bf3600 gph is around 3500 @ 4' the bf6000 gph is around 6000. total system rate will be about 31000 gph @ 103x/hr, 4 for the close loop will be 80x/hr, 2 for the system will be 23x/hr and will throttle back the pumps to make it closer to 10-15x/hr.

the fun begins, tank should be together in a couple weeks

The ID of those bulkheads are 1.5"?
You don't need a pressure rated pump for the closed loop, you need a low pressure/high flow pump (unless the pump is sitting in the basement and has to push the water 15 feet up first).

the holes are set up for 1.5" schedule 80 bulkheads, i have been talking to reeflo about the pumps to be used on this tank and the ones picked are rated correctly for their needs.

How much space between the overflow and backwall? how will you connect the 4 backwall return bulkheads to the 4 return bulkheads in the overflow?

Do you plan on using any PVC within rock for the closed loop return, or just coming from the back/hidden by rockwork?

Good thread. Sorry I missed it until now.

there will be 4 close loops total, the back wall has 4 bulkheads for input flow 2 for close loop and 2 for the system pumps. the other 2 closeloop inputs are going along the outer top of the tanks side edge to the two front corners. no powerheads will be used.
