    I'm with Sparky... can't believe I missed this one!
    I am trying the same thing but with glass. Kinda having a problem by myself so I am following this thread now. I like the dimensions and the way the flow is... that's some sick GPH ...LOL!!!!!

    i was going to use glass, but the weight would be to much for one person to lift. when the tank is finished ill try and weigh it.

    So weight was the reason? I have no experience at all with acrylic--but I know it scratches easily. I know you know what you're doing, Guru; and trust you've thought everything out dozens of times in your mind.

    You're bound to have coralline in no time. That would scare the pants off me. I'd be afraid of marring that surface.

    Wow I am so glad someone feels like they can build their own 300gal DT. Just pictured in my mind having done all that work, having cycled that month and adding my first fish, THEN while watching it one day after everything has matured watching it bust a seam them having a cascade of water, fish and rock come out. Remember i'm pulling for ya, we're all in this together- Redgreen.

    ive gone over this more times than i can count
    an old credit card works great
    not even funny, ive seen large glass tanks open up everything on the floor, acrylic makes a molecular bond, glass doesnt.

    1.5" pvc will run along the top outer edge to the front corners
