No powerheads. I really like anemones and have lost one already to a powerhead - this is however for another thread :p Sorry.

unlike others i wont throw a hissy fit. feel free to chime in about the subjects at hand.

    optimist:
flow is a must for all corals and to add to what otty stated, closed loops with external pumps are more efficient in producing flow than an internal power head. keep in mind there are 4 closed loops in this system. a house natural gas back up generator works better than a battery back up. sorry it took so long to reply i was in deep with your avatar.

front, back and two sides are welded and cured with no bubbles in the joints, the overflow will be put in shortly

there are three 2" drains and two 1.5" inputs from the sump, the four closed loops are 1/5" on both.

2" pvc drains 3300 gph by gravity. the two main pumps are rated at 3600 gph each and the four closed loop pumps are rated at 6000 gph each. 7200 gph will flow from the main tank to the sump with drains that can handle 9900 gph. closed loop 24000 gph, total system 31200 gph

    system turnover rate: 24x/hr
    tank turnover rate: 104x/hr

ill post some pics when time allows

7200 gph...I think that's a bit much flow through your sump...

i agree, thats what there rated for but that doesnt mean thats what your gonna get due to the fittings and so on it will be less than 24x/hr there will also be some other parts that will be running off of these two pumps, plus i can always throttle them back which will actually make them perform better.

    heres the charts

Reef that is crazy. When my bf6000 and bf3600 arrived I thought I had it down but you have no doubt a major pile of pumps. Just FYI I have my BF6000 on a manifold. Even with it running the skimmer and two return lines it is still putting out so much flow in the tank it caused bare bottom spots in two corners. So you will have no flow problems my friend.

I just got done reading this thread, and I see this will become an awesome setup. I have always thought a 36-48in deep reef tank would be my ideal setup. 24in high and 60in wide is perfect for me too.. I like how you are building the 6in overflow section in the back wall. Did you set it up that way so you could service your closed loop bulkheads without draining your DT?? I've seen tanks that had closed loops where the bulkheads are going through the sand, or close to to bottom of the tank on the back wall, and wondered what would happen if they started leaking or if they needed to be replaced?
Keep it up!! I love build threads!!
