4 of the bf6000 will be for the closed loops, the other 2 bf6000 will have the impellers from the bf3600 for the tank/sump, keep in mind the size of this tank and somewhere in the equation the pumps will also run the chiller, skimmer, sump stir and gfo. sps's love flow, the more the better

    tank you

    yup

exactly why i didnt do it

stay tuned, not anywhere near done yet

Sweet!!! I wish I had the funds to build a big reef like that. It really is just a matter of time though. I'm still saving...

Even in the reef-ready tanks like yours with the bottom drilled for the overflows, only the few gallons of water volume inside the overflow need to be drained to change a bulkhead - the overflow walls keep the water in the tank separated from the bulkheads ;).

You're right bogie, I agree with that setup. I believe this is the best way to set up a closed loop. Putting bulkheads in the bottom of a tank worry me... I have seen many setups with bulkheads that go through the glass out into the open.

So are you still sticking to the original plans that you asked Tangster to draw out for you on this tank, or did you change some things around?

What things are you keeping, and what did you decide to change?
