Temperature is pushing 81F at certain times with the heating on... If i changed the temperature on the heater down by 1 or 2 would this accomodate the extra heat from surrounds?

Got a problem with the overflow box! Got up this morning and it wasn't working, perhaps a small leak? But it's not visible... Is there some sort of pump I can have sucking air out constantly?
    Thanks for any advice!!

Thats a common problem with overflow boxes. They are kind of outdated although many people still use them. You can drill the tank and put in a bulkhead overflow and you could potentially make an overflow proof system. Some people use an aqualifter pump to make a continuous siphon even after a power outage.

    Thanks

Just done some tests and here are the results:

    Ammonia - 0.1mg/l
    Nitrate - 20-50mg/l
    Nitrite - 1.6mg/l
    pH - 8

Ammonia has dropped very well, the other two also seem to be slowly coming down :)
few more weeks by looks of it and we will be well on the way!

    Cant wait :D

Ammonia has dropped right down to 0-0.1
    Nitrate - 20
    Nitrite - 0.8

On a side note, I am getting a lot of green alge on the rocks and walls, is this good or bad?!

If you decide to redo it on a later date try this:

    1) Buy vinyl
    2) place stand on a table with the front of the tank down
    3) spray soapy water onto the sticky side of the vinyl and back of tank
    4) place vinyl on tank
    5) take a credit card or something similar to one and smooth the vinyl out
    6) gently cut the excess vinyl off
    7) smooth out the vinyl again
8)let it sit for 24 hours
