    K. I refer to this as my "predator" tank. Its been cycling for about 3-4 weeks now, and I think I have the livestock narrowed down. Have some questions for you all!

    Equipment
    Tank/furniture: Marineland 30G with cap & stand
Lights: Old 24" flou bulb had laying in garage...will upgrade to 36" T5 once livestock and longterm goals determined (pred now, maybe frag later etc...)
    Sump: Eshopps RS-100 20G (100G-125G rated ;D)
Refugium: 1-2" aragonite substrate, rubblerock, chaeto
    Skimmer: STA Aquac Remora Urchin
    H2O agitation: Koralia 1, Emp 400, Sump 0.25" return
Substrate: 20lbs Black aragonite (live ::)) ...yea riiiiiight
LR: 20lbs seeded/system Figi, 10lbs TX holy rock
H2O: Aquafina with a splash of Jagermeister
Livestock: STA 2 fish, snails, crabs, urchins, stars

Was considering a Valentini puffer, but because I am now thinking about including echinoderms (starfish, urchins etc) that I can't have in the other tanks, I am now against it. And I need a second fish!! Help!

    The fish:::
    1. Dwarf Fuzzy Lion, Dwarf Lionfish Radiata (Pterois radiata) or Dwarf Lionfish Antennata (Pterois antennata) I am between these two, been researching the devil out of these for the last month and a half, and still haven't decided which, just want something more than a hider like the fu-manchu or fuzzy...

    2. ???

I have read that Lionfish in general are somewhat photosensitive (not being camera shy but moreless disliking powerful lighting) ;) ...which is why I haven't purchased the T5 for it yet. But my reasoning is that I want to purchase a powerful light in order to use this tank in the future as a possible "spa" tank or a frag tank...but, I want this tank to be as comfortable as possible for the inhabitants soon to be added. Sure I could acclimate them to the light, but I am thinking if I do go the T5 route, I will have many overhangs and cave areas for the Lion...so not to burn out his retinas and make his occipital lobes collapse...

Same for the skimmer, I am thinking about AquaC Urchin or something ALOT bigger for the "next" BIG (150G+)tank...

So as equipment goes, I'm stuck between getting something specific for this tank or getting something that out performs the needs of this tank, therefore being able to use it for future use/in other endeavors...

However, the most important thing to me is to ensure that I am providing a peaceful sanctuary for all my livestock. Even if it's a predator tank...

For the other parameter/data nerds out there...

    T: 79.6
    pH: 8.4
    NH3: 0
    NO2: 0
    NO3: 0
    SG: 1.025

The refugium is having a diatom bloom this week, the chaeto is getting massive, and there is an orange brittle worm in there laying out in the sand with a Corona, humming Jimmy Buffet tunes

Nope not posted and for tankmates, you want to look at things bigger than gobies and not as aggressive as triggers or non-reef-safe wrasse. Like clowns, angels and tangs.
