Well, it has been about 1 year since I started up my first reef tank since getting out of the hobby years ago. I decided to go ahead and post some pictures and specs on my newest tank build. It originally was going to house mainly corals from the genus Euphyllia. I have since changed my mind and decided to run an SPS dominated theme with only one colony of each of the Euphyllia genus (frogspawn, hammer, and torch).

It is 34g and made of 3/8" thick acrylic. The dimensions are 24"L x 18W x 18H, with an added 2" eurobrace for support. It was planned to be rimless but I learned that I needed thicker acrylic for a rimless design; and I had already bought the acrylic sheets. My next tank I build will be a rimless of the same dimensions and made of glass because acrylic is a pain to clean. Either that or I will build a 24"L x 24w x 12H SPS / LPS tank to fit on my coffee table.

Well back to the subject at hand. My tanks features:
    - 250w MH with two 65w actinic lights as supplemental lighting.
    - Hydor Koralia 400pgh PH
    - Rio 1700 pump return from the 10gallon sump/refugium.
    - Sea Life Systems protein skimmer rated for 250g systems.
    - DIY Algae turf scrubber (not running now, old pump just broke)
    - 75 lbs or so of LR with 3.5" DSB

    Inhabitants:
    - Black Occelaris Clown
    - Scooter Blenny
    - Orange spotted mantis (g. ternatensis)
    - Pin cushion urchin
    - CUC consisting of various hermits and snails all of which are constantly replaced because of the mantis shrimp.
    - Fuzzy chiton which I am glad the mantis shrimp has not killed.
    - Maxi-mini anemone (I cannot seem to get it off the LR to transfer to another tank)
    - Bubble tip anemone

    Corals:
    - Florida rics
    - Hammer coral with 7 or 8 heads (it was only 4 heads 6 months ago)
    - Frogspawn frag(I think this is my favorite LPS)
    - Green star polyps (the weed of the ocean)
    - Colt coral frag
    - Various zoanthids
    - And an unidentified branching SPS frag

Here are the pics. Note: I allow a little GHA to grow for the pods to live in for the blenny. I do not think many if any pods from my refugium actually make it into the display tank :

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I like it!! The substrate looks really good with the macro algae. I think the maxi-mini looks cool in there. Would love to have a few my self.

Thank you for the compliments :).

If I am able to take the maxi-mini off the rock I would have no problem propagating it and sending you a clone. But I've tried so hard to get it to release his hold (power head, ice cubes, holding it upside down and dunking it up and down in the water). I decided he won the battle for now... :p
