Right so I found this 35 gal hexagon tank (24" deep x 20.25" wide X 11.5" faces) for super cheap. I brought it home and manfully/tactfully faced the wrath of my significant other. At this point i'm purely in the planning stages (the tank is weathering under a tarp for the moment) and i'm trying to figure out the lighting i'm going to need (eventually) for this tank. I'd like to be able to reef this tank and have few/no fish but is that a good idea at such a depth? I've definitely heard of this being done but my own experience is fairly shy. Monetarily because this is on such a back burner I can spend what I need to, granted i'm stingy as they come and DIY is my thing, but what should i be looking at to light this tank with the future goal of maybe clams and corals. I'd really like to keep my options broad (as far as coral stocking) and any input is valued. Thanks guys!
