Hi all.. i hope i correctly translate.. so it should be a 350 gallons tank [IMG].. or a 1300-1400 liters.. as you wish..

in this days my wife told me i can build it if i can pay for the glasses.. that here (italy) will cost me approx 3k € .. so nearly 5.000 dollars [IMG]

well.. the main trouble is.. i want to use a DSB.. and i think in USA you are the best for DSB system.. in europe we mostly use the Berlin system.. and i'm going to close a Berlin tank (150 gallons) after 4 years..

i'm moving in the new house.. and will start the new tank with the DSB as i like the sand..

the question is.. what skimmer ?.. i was thinking about a Bubble master 300.. then i saw the ETSS and the BAR (austin ocean now..) and i start to think about them..

what will be your ideas about it ?

    tnx

wouldn't it be cheaper to run a couple of smaller/cheaper skimmers (cheaper than those small Hondas) adding to the max capacity?

don't know.. i saw that if you have 2 skimmers usually 1 overkill the other skimmer.. they wont work perfectly togheter..

i had 2 smaller years ago.. while moving.. and i saw 1 did nothing for days and the other worked.. then all 2 stopped.. then 1 start .. etc..

so i prefer to have one.. should be .. safer..

Hmmm, I do suppose thats why you see those giant skimmers at aquariums instead of thousands of baby ones o_O

we saw that if one of the 2 is more efficent skimming the other will shut-off.. and sometimes all 2 shut-off foam..

    so was harder to manage..

the same happened to other guys that tested it..

and if they are too much different (1 for 300g and one for 100g) the small wont even start foam after the big startup

    so.. 1 big..

we saw on some huge sys they can live togheter.. but usually they wont use the same sump-water but they will use 2 different water inlet to avoid use the water one have alrady skimmed..

as you know a startup isnt fast and if a skimmer shutoff due to try to skim the water the other has already skimmed this will take time restart.. and you have a good sys but a fragile one.
