I ultimately wanted that AquaticLife unit but the Coralife Lunar was more realistic for my budget, so when I got a super deal on that, I couldn't pass it up.

They are all reputable lights. The more loot you wanna shell out, the nicer and more streamlined your're setup it will be.

Out of curiosity how wide is this light? I use a glass canopy which I know is looked down upon greatly in this forum so for me to be able to open the lid it has to be about 8inches or less in width. Aquacon states it is 7.75inches wide but amazon states it is 13.4inches wide which is wider then my tank

I'll have to check when I get home but it can't be 13.4 wide, my 29 gal is only 12.5 wide and it does not take up the entire top, ... alot of it tho...

I completely understand that. Check out the 4 bulb fixtures on aquatraders.com. I have been hearing some good things with them. It has all the features of the aquatic life at a better price, and if you are going to replace with ATI bulbs anyway, you should be more than set.

I have thought about them but I heard a lot of bad things about that company. Does anyone here use those lights?

i've started seeing more of them. the bad things ive heard were a while back and with their MHs. You might talk to Mawnkey on here. I know he had one on his 40B. He has since switched to LEDs, but he can probably give you an honest assessment of them.

These lights do not have individual German made reflectors like the Aquaticlife. Aquaticlife uses no fans for a much quieter unit. Aquaticlife has superior customer service :)
At $105 for a 4x36w t5ho unit I'd be scared to put it over my tank!!

True about the reflectors. I didn't mean they were exactly the same and should have specified better.

As for the price and fear of putting it over a tank, I can't say I agree. I am currently running a fixture I bought on ebay for $110. Its not the best, but it also fit my budget. After running it for over 6 months with no problems I am satisfied with it. You definitely get more if you pay more, but this fixture is working well for me. I would hands down love the aquaticlife but just couldn't afford it, and had this odyssea been out at the time I would have definitely given it a try.

PghSteeler, I just measured my Coralife Lunar and it's a bit under 10" wide.
