Just gettin back into the hobby after nearly ten years. Traveled a bit over the weekend and bought 2 36 inch 192 watt PC lights for 80 bucks a piece. Brand new and never been used from a LFS. 10 k day light and a blue act in each unit. Did I get a good buy or what? Thanks in advance.

What size tank are you planning on putting them over? What brand are they?

By Coralife. And I am placing them over a 125. Not many corals if any. Mainly shooting for a FOWLR for now.

fowlr fine imo. not enough for mainly photosynthetic corals unless they are centered and high in the tank assuming your tank is 24" deep since you said a 125. also, its difficult to transition from a fowlr to a reef tank mainly because of the nitrates. I tore my fowlr down because i was using a wet dry and maintained a 15-20 ppm nitrate reading.

Ditto! They will support lower light easy coral just fine(zoas, mushrooms, etc)but high light demanding coral would be tough to keep under pc lighting. But overall a good buy!
