It will be fine. Some people think you need a razor or radion for good light but the cost is crazy. I bet it looks awesome. You don't need a crazy priced led if your keeping a few corals. I say go for it man.

I'm not a huge fan of just cw and rb....You really need your uv, reds, greens, etc in there to get a really nice look. I have, however, seen great tanks with just cw and rb. I think todd sails' tank is running this combo.

I'm not really big on a actinic look or anything, for instance my smaller tank just runs a 150w 12k coralife bulb. As long as it will provide a somewhat natural light I'm fine. Not saying I'm sure this will

red, greens don't do much, DR adn cyan are better, UV doesn't go over our reefs, sellers just say that instead of violet/TV....

When you say washed out can you describe what you mean in detail?

Literally red corals will turn a dull orange, sometimes there's a weird "icy", bland, and windex look to the tank, etc

Not saying I disagree with you that a full spectrum build would look nicer, but you keep posting like these cw/rb lights are all of the sudden terrible. When Leds were coming on strong, this was the standard practice. I ran a 36 diy kit for 2 years, and corals grew fine and the tank didn't look like some God awful washed out mess. Did it lack some warmer pop? Sure. Could my red shrooms have looked a little redder? Sure. But it wasn't like I wanted to rip the light down. Idk why all of the sudden bc full spectrum builds caught on, that people think a cw/rb build is complete trash. If the light is a good deal I say buy it. Can always add some supplemental Leds to it later for some pop.

You will never get 6 inches above with those optics. More like 12 to 14 minimum for good spread would be my guess.

Being a DIY setup it's easy to make changes or add to it if your not happy with the color or optics.
