Well there Ballasts have a history of failing early and they also underpower. I would not got odyssea, Nova extreme is the better option if looking to save money.

I agree with the nova extreme... although its a very nice price, I recommend not to go cheap on such an important piece in this hobby! all in all good price but not the "best" lighting...

I just purchased a 36" nova extreme and I am impressed with the value for the money. I had thought about getting the odyssea since I am on a tight budget right now, but lighting is too important to just buy the cheapest fixture you can find.

I opted to buy the 36" odysea 4x39w and I think it works well so far, got it for $99. Lunar lights very cool by the way. I read alot of threads on this light, and some have had bad luck with them. I also read that thier newer fixtures are improved... of course ive only had them for a couple of weeks now, so I cant comment too much.

Do you have a hood on the tank. Also what are the dimentions and what do you plan on putting in it. If you have a hood and want to save a bit of money but want to save some money without sacrificing performance. DIY- http://www.reefgeek.com/lighting/T5...tput_Retrofit_Kit_w!_Bulbs_by_Sunlight_Supply

I have that exact kit on my 40B and it rocks. My softies are doing amazingly well and you get what ever bulbs you want, otherwise get this NOVA Extreme 48" T-5 Fixture 4 x 54W by Current USA* - AquaCave and use coupon code take20 that will take $20 off the price

I don't think you can beat them for the money. Both my son's have them on their tanks and their corals are doing great. In fact one of them just got the new 48" T5HO with built in timers today.

I have Nova Extreme on mine for the past couple of weeks.Seem to be nice lights, but the fan noise is ridiculous. You can hear it in the next room, whereas you can't hear the Odyssea fans at all.I've emailed Nova's customer service, we'll see what happens.
