For a birthday gift for my Uncle, my Aunt went and bought him a 37 gallon tank. Dimensions are 30.25" x 12.5" x 22.75".

He's asked for some help with lighting selection. They'd like to eventually do some corals.

I'm looking at and thinking of suggesting this:
    30 inch Current USA SunDial T5 HO 4x24W w/ Timers & LED

An all-in-one fixture would probably work best for them. Any other ideas or suggestions?

That would work well for softies, leathers, and some LPS.

Yeah, agreed. That is a good lighting system for those types. If you want to eventually not be limited by your lights as to what you can keep, look at some of the metal halide fixtures.

I've been looking at the MH's but the problem is the center brace in the middle of the tank. To get around that, I've been looking at the clip-on lights, but then I'm not sure what to do about Moon lights.

I just got that same outfit a month ago for our 37..LOVE it but I've had nothing to compare it to besides the garbage lighting that came with kit.

If you're worried about attaching it to the tank, they make brackets that allow you to hang the light from the ceiling and just suspend it over the tank. Also they have retro moon light kits that you can always add on later.
