I see I need to get new pics posted...

The stand has been stained and covered (inside and out) with 4 coats of 2-Part lacquer. Seems to be very water-proof. I plan to mount the doors tonight and move the cabnet inside to start the final assembly.

    Looking forward to aquascaping!

    Idea to prototype

Today we transitioned from Ideas and designs to the start of prototype testing...

    Setup, dry, in the house...

Still need to setup ATO and finish the plumbing. All of the big pieces are in place...need to finish taming the wires...each component has been individually tested...

Looks great! Finally getting to the exciting part.

One thing I noticed right away, is that you will greatly increase the flow from your pump if you increase the size of the return line. Especially with the reducer to the flex, you are greatly increasing friction.

You are right about the flow. But, because the intended habitat is in support of seahorses...my mistake may be that I don't have any throttle valve in the return line to the tank to slow down the flow any more...it may still be too high...it's not too hard to add a throttle valve if I still have too much flow for them.

With seahorses, there is no problem with high, medium and low flow areas as long as you have hitching available in the various areas so they can choose where they wish to be at any given time.
Mine spend time in all areas of flow, going to medium flow areas when being fed, but sometimes into the flow of the power head, probably to scratch itches from parasites.
