Well to start my name is Paige, I graduated high school this year (co09), get it?? It's my user name?? huh huh? lol oh nvm...:)

Well I don't have any saltwater tanks but I would love to some day. Currently I am a poor college student and I can't afford new equipment and such but I still tend to acquire new things here and there...

I have one freshwater 55 with two HOB filters both overrated for a 55 and I love it because my water is always so clear people come over and are jealous of me...It is stocked with one full grown lace catfish, named Marshmellow, he was my first fish in this tank and he is my FAVORITE!! Seriously as far as freshwater goes Lace catfish are so interesting and entertaining!! I also have one full grown bristle nose that keeps my tank super clean, one ghost shrimp (some reason I buy a ton but I can only find one...), Guppies and guppy fry... That's it. It's understocked, but thats because guppies don't last very long (babies get eaten and their lifespan is relatively short, not to mention marshmellow might have a snack here and there)... Marshmellows favorite and most expensive snack is neon tetras!! I thought they looked so cool schooling around in my tank (about 11 mind you) and the very next day all of them are gone with no bodies..

I also have two one gallon hexagon tanks, not used for anything except quaranteen here and there. One 35 gallon hexagon tank, which I think I'm going to try and sell because it will be too difficult to make a reef tank and honestly not many fish like to swim in a circle...One 10 gallon that used to have guppies, but now has a gerbil, lol.

    That's about it...;)

Hello and welcome! Good to have you. When the time comes to set up the salt tank we are here to help, guide and encourage. We do like pics here so post a pic of the tank and marshmellow, I would like to see your tank and your "pet".

if possible, try to put a little money away each week and cruise craigslist at least a few times a week. if you search for aquarium, fish tank, and saltwater under "all for sale" and "pets" theres some amazing deals to be had if you can weed through the garbage.

    welcome to 3reef btw!

Hang in there and keep collecting stuff, nothing great comes easy, and if it does it is rarely appreciated. I am finding great prices on craigs list surprisingly. I myself am on a strict budget and have had great help from good friends. I also am a newbie and one can read my introduction posted today. Perhaps the rents may assist you in a nice Christmas or birthday gift? hint hint....
