Have you checked out some of the information on any of brandon429's threads. He does some very interesting stuff with pico type tanks. If you have not done so it would be worth your wild IMO.

The boost LED reef lamp with a 4x1 will be pretty blue, but the whites appear brighter than the blues so it may not be as blue, it's hard to say having never seen one before in person.

I think you're biggest concern here will be coverage rather than PAR. You'll want to make sure you have this far enough off the surface with 40 degree optics to sufficiently cover all areas and not leave any shadows. Id probably go with 60 degree optics if I was doing this to make sure I had complete coverage. I'm not really sure of the shape of this vase though, so 40 degrees may work just as well.

The vase has a 10" diameter and is 16" deep, I figure the 40 degree optics on the LED's might work.

Here's a pic of the vase, the uniseals and the guys that will call this home....they are in a 10g QT tank right now. I'm still waiting on the 1-1/4 diamond bit to come in so I can drill the vase, hopefully I get it early next week...paid for it since 10/2, not sure what's taking the ebay seller so long.

Here's my sad attempt at drawing what I'm thinking of building. The overflow (blue part) will be built out of 4" PVC pipe. I can't take all the credit for this design, I stole part of it from someone else, however hopefully I'll be improving on his design by going through the glass as oppose to what he did, which was use a pump to move the water over the lid of the glass. Using a pump to do this is asking for a flood. I'm also considering building the overflow 1/2 the size, instead of running the full length of the vase.

Thanks. I always wanted to build a tank into the wall as a backsplash to my bar. At the time it was a great idea but since my tank is in the basement, closing it off in a small space doesn't do it too much good....my pH is always running lower than what I would like.

Some sellers will hold the item for three weeks and then tell you that they already shipped it. As your waiting for it to get there, you are unknowingly letting the seller scam you. After three weeks you can no longer file a complaint with ebay about the seller and they get away with your money and your product. Im not saying your seller is doing this but if you happen to get near 3 weeks then you might wanna report it.
