son-of-a-gun, no drill bit yet. I just opened the case with eBay, I know the $13.00 is not worth the aggravation but just the thought of letting this bastord off the hook was enough for me to open a case, I contacted him a few times after he told me "it's in the mail" but he never got back to me. Looks like I'll be ordering a new bit, wish I had done it last week.

I ordered a new bit from glass-holes.com. A buddy of mine just told me he has some of these bits but they are not labeled. I'll have to stop by to see if he has a 1-1/4 bit. If not, hopefully I get the new bit I ordered next week.

Question I should have asked a while ago....does anyone see a problem with me drilling a 1-1/4" hole in the vase? Not sure if it will be a problem since it's a curved surface. thanks.

just keep that bit straight and lubricated very well. I had a glass guy who said to mix a 50/50 antifreeze/water in a spray bottle and use it liberally. you can always wash off the oils and such. the pro glass guys do high speed drilling, but i believe glass holes recommends going slow. you are basically grinding away the glass. dont use much pressure, just that of the drill weight and make sure you use one with a clutch so that if the bit does hang, it will not force it and break the glass.

The only problem I have is..is the bottom of the vase completely flat? I know it is smooth but it looks like it is curved, horizontally, as you go towards the center?

The bottom has a slight curve up towards the center....however, I'm drilling the side about 2 inches down from the rim of the vase...I think I'm asking for trouble but if it works it would be a really clean setup.

I just picked up the 1-1/4 bit from my buddy, I'll be giving it a shot tomorrow, hope it works....

    Now we're making some progress...

Just drilled the vase, took about 15 minutes total to drill through 1/4" curved glass. I had to stop and charge up my cordless battery. Here are a few pics...
