    I decided not to drill through the bottom because I didn't want to see the plumbing running up the side of the tank. I was going to try and hide it but it would still be visible. Drilling the side was more risky because of the curve but it will be a much cleaner look.....and now I know I can drill curved glass ;D

    Wow never would of thought that would work drilling curved glass with a hand drill none the less. Maybe I could see it working with a drill press our something. Awesome work though can't wait to see the finished product.

    I spray painted the back of the vase flat black...looks cool, I'll put the rest together this week and get some pics up...

    When I started I was almost sure I would break the glass, I didn't have anything to keep the vase steady, I was standing over it and using my legs to keep it from moving...figure what the heck, give it a shot. It was actually easier than I thought, jumbed around a bit in the beginning.

    It's a rubber bulkhead, Gazog (member here) pointed me to them, they are called uniseals, seems to take the shape of the curve OK. Hopefully they are safe for the tank and don't leach anything out that would cause problems in my main system.
