Just wanted to show a few pics of my tank before I added live stock. It is a 4 gallon Finnex tank with a laptop cooling pad as my LED hood. I built a 60 watt PWM driver with a dimmer to drive them. I'm using 3 white and 2 blue 3 watt star LEDs

Wow! Using a laptop cooling pad is by far the most innovative idea I have seen for building a DIY L.E.D. system. You take the cake with this one!

When will you be building bigger models? I need a 36"...

Thanks for the comments guys. I felt dumb when I first saw the cooling fan and thought to myself why I didn't think of it sooner lol. I'm just going to stay withing soft corals. Maybe in the future I'll buy a few more LEDs and try one or two stony corals. The LEDs are super bright and I'm only driving them like a 75% duty cycle to keep the heat at check.

Hey Mikejrice, mine is 12 inches long so I guess if we chain 3 together it might work lol. I'm going to build another one for a friend. When I do I'll take lots of pics in a build thread.
