thanks guys/gals. i know that 20 ppm is not bad for FOWLR, im just trying to get on pace to get some corals. i just got my diy overflow for the skimmer done i think it will help out a lil, there was oily layer on the surface for a lil so i know my skimmer wasent getteing the surface. this morning after its been installed for 10 hrs or so the oil layer was gone.
Ive been reading alot on starting a fuge with DSB and some cheato. or one or the other. not only for nitrate but my dragonette would benifit also.
Do you think running a fuge would help to stabalize the enviroment, and ultimately bring down my nitrates?
IF this is something i should look into how big would a fuge for a 44 gal have to be to make a noticable change?

Djnzlab1 my scooter is very well trained to eat brine enriched with spirulina, and fresh baby brine. he is actully very plump. no sign of starvation he probaly doubled+ his thickness since i got him 3 months ago.

Hey Jason, WOW, thats a good question!! If I had to guess and thats what it would be, I would have to say about 60-80lbs of LR, maybe more. I have about 1-1.5" of LS, half of a 30gal tank with bio-balls, a very small home-made refug. The light bulb went on:idea2: and I figured out what is going on(I hope). My problem is that I have alot of water flow with my return pump Magdrive 18(1800 gph) and I guess that the wet/dry isnt getting the slower current that it needs to process the no3's. My ammonia and nitrites are always at zero. If you can come up with a solution, that would be great. Keep in mind that I really cant buy another piece of equipment( I dont have any elec. sockets left). I also tried that coil denitrator and it didnt work out for me. Thanks, Luna

The Bio Wheel is a "penguin" brand mechanical filtration device. The "wheel" part harbors bacteria, so the best thing to do is take it out!
. . It will then be an expensive waterfall, lol.
