ok cool. so it's competing with my Mandarin for pods lol. It's very tiny now (1/4 inch or so) so I doubt it'll eat my fishes :) And yes it only opens up at night

nothing to worry about at all. Most likely what you have is an Atlantic one and they stay small. Non photosynthetic, will eat a very minuet amount of pods and IMO desirable to keep :) My fuge is covered in them :D

I have one that looks exactly like hers, only I can't see the base as its set into a crevice on my live rock. The only difference I can make out is mine has blue or turquoise balls.

    Is it the same thing?

That's what I feared. It's their standard M.O., although I've never seen one on frogspawn before.

pagojoe, would you like the snail ? I can ask my buddy over at www.cultivatedcoral.com to mail it for me I know he's shipped stuff like that before, heck, I can even ask John over at reefcleaners.com too he's not too far, you can have it for free :)
otherwise, what should I do to dispose of it ? throw it back in the ocean ? put it in the trash ? bury it ?

Sure, I'll take him if you don't want to keep him. I usually keep the shells of snails that give their lives for the greater good of the tank, so you might consider doing that too, LOL. It's an uncommon species, whichever it is. If you want to keep his shell, just freeze him (he'll go to sleep, don't let the nutcases tell you he'll suffer), then thaw, refreeze, thaw again, and you can pull the animal out with a bent paper clip or fish hook. Then put the shell in straight bleach for 30 minutes, with it positioned so that the spire is exactly straight down, and any remains will be cleaned out quickly and bubble to the top. Then you can baby oil it and make the snail immortal (or almost immortal) by placing it on a shelf in your aquarium room for all your visitors to admire....

    Cheers,
