Would you like a wood stain color guide to match it? :p These are all on oak, so it might not look exactly the same (as your house trim), but seeing the floor molding in your photo, I bet it's on this list.

ok guys, running into a dilemma. i can not figure out for the life of me how to tune/stabilize this beananimal overflow system.

i found out that i needed to drill 1/4 inch hole into main drain to start a siphon. but it still seems like the drain that is only supposed to trickle down is flowing rather quickly.

i currently only have the ball valve on the main drain and a gate valve on the pump return.

i am running 3/4 pipe with 2 returns and a 680gph return pump.

    HELP!

I would think the overflow lines should be 1" and return should be 3/4" or 1/2" (preferably) depending on the output diameter line of your return pump.

    Hmmm...

It's pretty self explanatory on the beananimal site but we know how quickly things go south in reality!

Unless you're wording it wrong, I don't think you should have drilled into the full siphon standpipe...
You CAN get away with just a ball on the main channel / full siphon and return so it should be working when tuned properly...

The secondary channel or Open channel is, "open" because that has the airline - which should be curved to sitting at the same height in your overflow as the emergency channel. Once the overflow water level reaches the height of the emergency overflow channel, the airline for the Open channel should also go under water at that time which will turn the Open channel to a closed full siphon.

Did you open the ball valve on the main drain until it was sucking air and then tune it back a bit till it went silent? If so, then the Open channel shouldn't be doing too much work. HOWEVER, this depends on how much your return pump is putting back in the tank!

    You'll get it soon!

fatbastad, i did drill and tune the main drain to go silent but then the open drain still flows a great deal of water causing noise. is this because my pump is returning to much water?

wont slowing down the pump mess up the main drain?

    thanks for help so far.

I think you are returning too much if the open drain is in use. It is supposed to be for emergencies.

Turning back the return should not affect the main drain.
