I need some help here guys and gals. I just set up my 40 breeder with a 20L sump and I'm not sure what to add fish wise. This tank will be in the bedroom and I want it to be more fish focused then coral focused but will still be a "mixed" reef. I have a Royal gramma and a tailspot blenny in my solana so I don't want to duplicate fish. I'll be moving my tomato clowns out of the frag tank I'm breaking down but don't know what other fish to add. The frag tanks currently running so I'm not in a hurry to move the clowns, I know they can get territorial so they will probably be the last or 2nd to last. Here's what I was thinking?

    Purple fire fish
    Yellow watchman goby/Pistol shrimp combo
    Banji cardinal 1 or 2
Fairy wrasse (IF only 1 Cardinal)
    Pair of Tomato clowns
Flame angel or other smaller angel

I'm thinking this is the correct order as well?

Very hit or miss with the angels I wouldn't risk if your doing reef.. I pretty much have a similar setup. I have a fifty breeder. Two clowns, yellow watchman, cleaner shrimp, bangai cardinal, and purple fire fish. And I am very hesitant about adding another fish. Your list is two longer and ten gallons less...

Should be fine, with room for a few more smaller fish if you take off the angel. They can be coral unfriendly.

I honestly think it's too many fish. Here's my fish list, for example and my tank is 120 gallon with about 175 gallon total volume:
    1 x scribbled rabbit
    4 x Dispar Anthias
    1 x Leopard Wrasse
    1 x Sixline Wrasse
    1 x Flame Hawk
1 x Random blue damsel that my daughter named and wouldn't let me get rid of. (he was the canary in the coal mine after cycle)

That's only 8 fish and sometimes, watching my tank, it may even be a bit overstocked. I know it's not but......

I would also shy away from the Tomato Clowns. They get very big and pretty aggressive. Here's the way I would go if I were you:
2 x oscellaris or percula clowns
    2 or 3 bangai card.
    Yellow Watchman
    firefish

I would add the clowns last. The rest doesn't really matter as they are all very peaceful

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
I think you should pull the Cardinals from the list and go with a Dwarf Angel.

With that said I agree Angels can go rouge and nip clams and corals. I have good success with Potters and Coral Beauties not nipping, but every Angel is different.

Normally I agree with just about everything you say but this time, I have to question. Cardinals are awesome little fishies that fill the water column quite well. Why would you scrap those?
