40 gallon fuge/90 gallon display

    i want to plumb the 40 gal. to my existing 90 gallon system, run it as a refugium. there is about 4 feet between the two tanks. ( 20 g. sump under display tank) how would you do it?

    Is the 40 gal drilled or can it be drilled?

    Easy.... I could show you my tank. You could have the 40 gallon fuge go to the 90 then to the sump and then back to the fuge. And you can do it cheap with PVC pipes but if your willing to drill that would most likely be better.

    my plan is to drill the 40b, thinking of just running a t from return pump to both tanks.

    what size pump best fits this application? 1200 gph or more? mostly lps only a few sps thank you for comments

    I am currently setting up something similar (30 gallon fuge in room behind tank). I actually went the opposite way, and had a T off the overflow line that split some of the nice dirty water into my fuge, then this overflows back into my sump (drilled the fuge tank as well). Was pretty easy to setup :)

    thanks zechenia, r u planning a deep sandbed in your fuge? liverock? also, my intention is to exit the water from fuge directly to the display. i guess it will need to be higher to drain (gravity)...:-/
