I will be moving my two oscellaris clowns to a 10 gallon to start breeding them and have their own privacy. (They seem to be getting annoyed by my rambunctious chromis haha). Should I get the 80 watt lighting system or the 40 watt for my anemone in the 10 gallon? For double the watts it is around $80 more. Help me out guys :)...

Depends what type of lighting it is. If its PC lighting I would say get the 80 if its t5s you may be able to get away with 40 but 80 would still be better.

Most people will tell you not to have the nem in there for breeding. Im not sure if this is because it can kill and eat the young when they hatch or some other reason. are you planning on moving the eggs as soon as the lay and fertilize them?

It's a t5 light. I may have worded that a little wrong. I'm not trying to breed them, just have them be paired off and happy. (The classic clownfish/anemone relationship you see everywhere nowadays.) They are already paired but they aren't hosting anything atm. I was planning if they did host with the anemone and lay eggs i would seperate them in another tank.

Ok sounds like a good plan then. I would go with the 80 watt light. This will give you 8 watts per gallon which will be a very happy home for the nem.

What kind of nem are you planning on?

How are you planning to do your flow? You dont want your nem getting at any power heads and nuking the tank. In such a small tank it may be hard to keep the nem away from power heads.

I was thinking about the extra canister filter I have lying around. I was also thinking of creating some type of box or retaining wall around the intake with some very small holes to have absolutely no chance of accidents happening.
I really liked a bulb anemone that I once had and was thinking the same, but I'm open to alot of things. Any suggestions?

Awesome idea. I was going to suggest closed loop but that will work perfectly. I think if you get the 80 watt light nem will be completely up to you. 8 watts per gallon t5 should be enough for any nem you want. What type of rock and sand are you planning on using? If you can manage to squeeze rock and sand out of your current tank it will provide a more mature atmosphere and you will have much more chance of success with your nem.

I was actually planning on using the extra crushed coral and live rock from my other tank. It would give my other tank some more space and get the cycle going quicker.
