So i'm looking for a skimmer for my 125G. I was eying the AquaC EV-240, Bubble-Magus BM160 External Skimmer, and the Reef Octopus DDNW-150 Protein Skimmer. Which and why? Is there better for the money?

I believe the Octopus includes the 2 OTP 2000 pumps. Are these any good or are they garbage? The AquaC is $400 without a pump, the octopus is around $360 with pump. Whats your experience on these and what tanks do you have them on? Looking to make a purchase soon, but would like to see experience on the products and/or complaints.

Also, is it better to have an ext skimmer or an insump skimmer? Should i buy the sump first or buy the skimmer first?

    Thank you 3reef members!!!!

I have the AquaC 180 and love it. I have heard really good things about the BM-160...and I think there is a thread recently discussing that skimmer.

I also run the SWC 160 on my 75 and love it. Very quiet when set properly, extremely reliable, and just does an all around great job.
