How much sand and base rock should i get for my 40gal breeder tank. I am going will the Arag Alive Caribsea Tropical Isle Tahiti Moon sand. And i think im going to go with the Florida Reef Rock from ReefCleaners.org I also was wondering if i should put eggcrate on the glass bottom of the aquarium before i add the sand and than the rock?

The amount of sand depends on how deep you want it to be. Rock is suggest at 1 to 1.5 lbs per gallon. 1LB of dry sand per gallon usually gets you about 1" in depth. If you buy live sand then you will probably need 50% more.
