I have a Coralife Aqualight Pro 48" fixture and need to replace my bulbs. I want to order them this weekend so hopefully i can have them by next weekend. So here are my questions:

    1) are the phoenix 14k 150 watt bulbs good? Marinedepot has them for 49.99 and free shipping over $175.

    2) what is the difference between 420nm and 460nm? I have stock bulbs now but marine depot tells me they are 460nm and coralife website says they are 420. They look more purplish than blue to me but they are old...any brands to stay away from, or look for. Leaning towards AquaticLife combo 420/460. Heard some good things about the brand.

as far as the mh goes, nothing compares to Iwasaki bulbs... however, I dont think they make any in 150 watt :(

and for the pc's 420nm is purple and 460nm is blue. Running a combo of the two is the best way to go because you get a larger range of nm emitted. the 420 goes down into the UVa range and the 460 goes up into the more visible spectrum. so purple is "darker" to our eyes and blue is "brighter" to our eyes
