Probably pureed it's less than it sounded like. I know many people just throw a shrimp or two in to cycle or ghost feed.....it just sounded like a lot to me.

Looking good! Hope you get some growth soon.

huh, 2 tablespoons of alot of stuff mixed together is still just 2 tablespoons.

the reason behind the mixture is so the tank will develop the correct bacterial enzymes to counter act future feedings since thats excatly what i feed my corals.

tested tanks parameters for the first time, of course the nh3,4 is through the roof but i didnt add anything to the water to make these numbers appear the mix is straight out of the bucket of ocean reef crystals.

    ca: 850
    mg: 1830
    kh: 1.25

my ph is 7.9 and the salinity is 35ppm, to counter act this i added 7 teaspoons of reef builder and 2 teaspoons of reef buffer. has anyone else had numbers like this straight from the bucket?

wow no never that off! are your test kits old or salt old?

my reef crystals are always about:

    @ 1.025 sg
    Cal: 440 ppm
    AlK: 9.0 DKH
    Mag: 1400 ppm

reef crystals has always made perfect water for me.

test kits and salt are new, i cant explain it either. 440 to 550 ca is a big spread. wonder if their quality control isnt.
