Salinity, Coral Hitchikers and Strange Tentacles

After a trip to my LFS yesterday I came home with 4 pounds of choice live rock, it is very purple and should hopefully "seed" my tank faster and help it finish cycling sooner, not to mention spread coraline throughout my tank. On one of the pieces there are alot of button polyps, on another rock there are a few mushrooms, but there are also some white tube looking things and i noticed what looks like tentacles coming out of the white tubes. What are these? are they the dreaded Aptasia anenoneme? They look strange. Also i added 5 gallons of fresh water yesterday, and pulled out about 3 gallons of fresh water, the salinity is now back where it needs to be. Here are some new pics

oh, i also started running some carbon in my sump, it seems to have helped my water quality.

Why are the pics so small? I can't see much at all...

I run carbon in a reactor. I like it.

    Tank Updates

I will post some updated pictures tonight.

Algae issue is completely under control, all it took was less food being given to my fish, an less lights on.

I had my water tested again and the ammonia is now gone, and my Nitrites are almost completely gone. My cycle is finally coming to a close. If all goes well, I will add two more fish next week. My LFS store that has been doing my water testing thinks that it will be fine. I am planning on getting a Cardinal fish and a Firefish next.

My salinity has finally balanced out, and is sitting at around 0.25 My protein skimmer is breaking in and is actually pulling out some pretty dark green nastiness. Still pretty wet foam, but from what I understand, that will go away after the skimmer is broken in.

I have a feather duster in my tank now, and it seems to be doing quite well in there, there are also quite a few button polyps and zoas on a few rocks as well as a few mushrooms. It is amazing the amount of life on a piece of live rock. I still have not seen any pods even with the chaeto that i have going, i might have to buy some reef pods to put in my fuge. I have noticed a small patch of bubble algae on one of the pieces of live rock i purchased, might buy a emerald crab to clean that up.

Pods are best seen at night with a flashlight.

Today I found a place called Midwest Coral Farms, this place was huge! 16,000 foot facility that sells and makes corals, and fish. It was incredible! I have never seen so many corals, and it is only 10 miles from my house. I purchased a 6 line wrasse, and a firefish. I added them to my tank, and while looking closely I was clearly able to see tiny pods crawling on my rock! That makes me happy, i also noticed a purple dusting all over my rocks as well, Coraline has finally shown up. I am happy, I think i will add a frogspawn frag next, they sell a good size one on a plug for 29.99.
