I run a Fluval C4, you can adjsut the flow with a nob on the top that actually works, as long as the waterlevel of the tank is high enough the filter is almost silent.

 

Purchased 2 new clowns today, not sure if they are ocellaris or percula clowns but they were sold as tank raised perculas (guy said their shipments sometimes come in mixed so any help in an accurate ID would be appreciated.

 

More then likely if there is an orange ring around the eyes, then it is a percula. If the eye is solid black then it is an ocellaris.

 

Sweet, looking for a HOB filter, can't decide between this and aquaclear- anyone in here have experience with how loud AC is? And can u still hear the running water hitting the tanks surface? Sry lots of questions

 

My two aquaclear 50's are completely quiet. I have the water level above the return so you don't hear the water returning into the aquarium.

 

Awesome- I have the whisper that came with my 10 gallon so I've been suspicious of AC since its just the next step up. Good to hear though!

 

I never knew the aquaclear was a step up from the whisper. Aren't they made by two different company's?

 

Whisper is made by tetra, which is owned by Hagen I think, not sure if I got that right but my whisper 10 does anything but whisper

 

You could very well be right in this. I haven't researched it that far yet. Sorry the whisper name is misleading lol.
