These days everybody owns everyone else, its funny how much of a difference there can still be though I would never compare a newer whisper to a fluval or AC. The old whispers were great back in the day but the new ones are absolutely terrible, loud, no bio filtration, and just poor quality filters.

Its been about 5 days since I added the 2 clowns. Have tested the water a few times and ammonia and nitrite remain at 0 with nitrate climbing somewhere between 10 and 20. My pH has finally started to stabilize and seems to hold steady at 8.2 with the kH dropping to 12. Fish both eating very greedily and mostly brown but some green algae starting to cover the top of the rocks and some of the substrate, almost time to order a CUC from John.

Honestly you could have ordered the CUC before you even put the clowns in. Never hurts to get a head start on algae lol. I'm glad to hear your params are stable.

Thanks, I thought about it but had very little algae at the end of the cycle. I was kind of surprised because I kept the light on throughout the cycle and used tapwater.

You may just really clean tap water, but it wouldn't surprise me if the cyano isn't to far away. ;D

I guess we will find out, I do have a lot of flow in the tank and hopefully a CUC would take care of it. I need to get a phosphate test kit to see how pure my tap water is, might be investing in a RO/DI system in the future since I plan on getting into corals a few months down the road.

You would need a TDS to see how pure you tap water is, but a phosphate test kit would be helpful too. ;D

Uploaded a few more photos on the tank. Not to much going on besides an increase in diatom growth and the discovery of a new worm which I am unsure of its ID.

[IMG] It seems that whatever life is in that 1 lb of liverock I added is still contained since I have yet to spot any life on the dryrock besides algae.
