Cool thanks Bruce. Is the hanging kit required?? I read that it comes with some kinda hook, and cable. Also, how does the cable attach to the celling?? Will I have to drill 2 large holes for an anchor, or just two small ones. I would get the acrilic sheild, but they dont make it for the 6 bulb fixture.

Ok lets see. The fixture does come with two hooks without any wire though, you would have to get wire or chain. The cable system comes with a cable that attatches to the fixture. You can either screw into studs in the ceiling or use molly hooks to hang inbetween studs, i did the former. They are pretty small holes in my opinion...i dont really notics them at all. I got the shields but dont use them...dont really have any reason for that though hah...You can see some pics in my gallery.

ReefGeek > Aquarium Supplies for Marine, Reef, and Saltwater Aquariums E-mail them and they will help with any questions you have. Very nice people. And good prices. The tek lights are great, and about in the middle of the high end lights. The only way you could improve them is to have ice cap reflectors, but they want fit the fixture. Good luck with the light. t-5 is the way to go. Almost as good a MH or better is some cases, but put out almost no heat to the tank.

    Birchell,
I have a smaller tank with a four-bulb T5-HO that Bruce recommended to me a year ago. It has 2 10,000K bulbs and 2 actinics.
The lights are really bright!!! Be aware that the increased light could spark an algae bloom, especially if you keep them on for more than 12 hours each day (as I used to).

i also ordered my t5s from reefgeek about 2 months ago i decided to go with the 4x48" 54w bulb tek retrofit. i have yet to install them in my tank but i guess they will be ok. My tank is 60"x18"20". same length and width as yours. i know you should buy a fan so they could run more efficient (around 90 F) and that will give you about 30% more light i think.

IBMGeek, Im not sure 4 bulbs will do to good over a 100 gallon. You could run sofites from the middle up, but clams and sps is out. I got the "limited edition" tek 6 bulb system. It has ice cap reflectors so it is like 30% better than the stock sunlight supply ones. Oh and it is painted blue, not black. Wish me luck, it should be here this week,
